Baking with Whiskey

Recipes and ramblings.

Friday Night Pick-Me-Up.

Let’s start this weekend right.

Picture 4

Tonight, do what makes you happy.

Go see a new movie (The Great Gatsby is out today! I’m so excited.). Go paint or draw a picture or write some poetry. Go read a new book. Go to a bar.
Go hang out with your pets and realize how great animals are.
Crank up the punk music and dance around your house like a fool. I do it almost every night. Don’t judge.

Tonight, do all the silly things that make you happy. Maybe make these Muddy Buddies.

This recipe is one of those simple recipes that I feel like everyone should have and make on a regular basis. Like Rice Krispie treats. Mmmm.

Makes about 15 servings.

  • 9 cups Chex cereal
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Combine butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir, then microwave an additional 30-45 seconds and stir until smooth. Pour over Chex cereal. Mix well to make sure all cereal is coated with chocolate. Add half of chocolate-covered cereal to a gallon-sized Ziplock bag, then add 1 cup powdered sugar and close bag tightly. Shake to coat all cereal with powdered sugar. Repeat with remaining cereal.

Tonight, be happy.

Tonight, stay positive.
